Modular System
Our modular system consists of 4 types of ramp unit: Floors, Flat Banks, Transitions and Platforms.
Each unit is 4ft wide and comes in a range of heights, such that they can be configured to form an entire skatepark. Any ramp can be created by combining units: mini ramps, driveways, halfpipes, quarterpipes, flat banks, hips, spine ramps etc. We also manufacture a range of street obstacles including metal benches, grind rails and boxes, to enable a complete and varied skatepark facility.
Key benefits to a modular system:

Skateparks can be expanded by adding new units
Layouts can be changed by repositioning units
Fabrication carried out off site
Quick & easy repair: damaged unit can be replaced
Replacement parts readily available
Surface

The surface of any skatepark ramp is crucial to it's safe usage. From a providers point of view, a metal surface is durable, however, from a riders perspective metal is positively dangerous, even when coated. The reason is because of a lack of traction between wheels and surface, making the ramp unpredictable when being ridden. Wood provides the ideal grip for a surface but lacks durability.

The solution is a Skatelite surface: a hard wearing, maintenance free composite material, providing a smooth riding surface with sufficient traction.

Key benefits to a Skatelite surface:

Ideal riding surface, grippy & durable
Smooth finish = less skin abrasions
Fire resistant, self extinguishes under flames
Maintenance free: long lasting, hard wearing
Safe temperature: doesn't overheat and cause skin burns like a metal surface
Skatelite is a compressed fibre laminate used originally in the aerospace industry. Now used extensively by Skateparks in the USA, whether public or private or for international competitions. There are currently over 50 Evolution Skateparks around the UK, all using Skatelite Pro as a surface.
No sharp edges (metal) & no splinters (wood)
Cleaner friendly: unaffected by chemicals, graffiti removed easily

All ramps come with a Skatelite Pro top surface secured to the steel structure by screws. To further the application of Skatelite we also bond it to a coated ply substrate underneath. This helps to further strengthen the join and prevents material lifting up at the edges.

We have further developed the bonded and screwed surfacing system by adopting a new industrial super strength ,100% flexible adhesive. This means it will allow movement/expansion whilst retaining its high sheer strength characteristics.

Structure/Installation

All our structures are steel and prefabricated in a jig to ensure accuracy.

Each ramp unit is galvanised then surfaced in our factory, so they arrive on site in a finished state, ready to be bolted together. No materials need to be cut on site, installation is clean and unobtrusive.

Although our ramps are based around a modular system we can custom make anything not already in our range. We can also provide a Design service with a 3D illustration, whereby expert riders will create an effective layout to suit your budgets.

All our equipment comes with a 20 year Guarantee on structures and 5 years on the surface. We can also offer maintenance contracts, check the Maintenance pages for details.

To date, we have installed 55 skateparks around the UK, visit our Locations page to see where your nearest Evolution park is.

For existing Evolution customers we offer product back up, a maintenance and repair service and a parts order/replacement service.

Evolution can offer any customers the optional extra of a demonstration by the UK's only professional BMX, Skateboard & Inline display team: Team Extreme to open your skatepark. Contact us for further details.

For anybody unfamiliar with skateparks please visit the Skatepark Terminology pages where we have provided an informative document outlining ramp types and their usage.
