The riding surface of any skate ramp is one of the critical elements that contribute to the success of the facility. Evolution skate ramps are designed to allow 4 surfacing options:
Whichever riding surface option you choose for your skate ramps, the framework principle remains the same. In the instance of Option 1 & 2, the opportunity of change from one to the other in subsequent years is possible.

There is no question that steel surfaces can withstand considerable abuse, and may be suited to a facility with a high risk of vandalism. At Evolution we can offer an industry leading, heavy duty, 4mm mild steel riding surface, coated in a non-slip, acoustic dampening paint.
We believe it is absolutely vital that steel surfaces are painted with a non-slip coating. If the surface is not painted or maintained, ramps become extremely slippery and unpredictable for the user. The end result is a dangerous ramp with a high risk of a accidents and injuries.

THE BENEFITS OF A STEEL SKATE RAMP SURFACE:
• Smooth
• Fast
• Heavy impact resistance
• Resistant to vandalism
Galvanised, stainless or non coated steel surfaces should NEVER be considered for a ramp surface as we believe this presents a real hazard to the user.
Coating surfaces allows the potential for skate ramps to be as low impact as possible by blending colours to match their surrounding environment. Aside from ramps becoming slippery, problems are relatively few. However, it should be noted that steel surfaces become exceptionally hot in the summer months.
