Halfpipes
enable riders to perform in a consistent ‘back and forth’
manner without losing momentum.
The
Vertical Halfpipe, also known as ‘vert’
or ‘full size halfpipe’, is the most challenging
of all ramps and is often the signifier of a fully equipped
skatepark.
Vert ramps are designed with large transitions to enable advanced
tricks to be performed. The amount of ‘vert’ on
a ramp is determined by the length of vertical surface after
the transition has reached 90 degrees.
Mini
ramps are scaled down halfpipes with smaller transitions,
stopping well before vertical. Mini ramps are ideal solutions
for public parks offering the potential to learn basic skills
on a more manageable ramp.
Midi
ramps combine the potentials of a vert sized transition
with a reduced overall height (midway between mini and vert).
Midi ramps allow riders to advance from mini ramps onto equipment
which progresses their abilities.
