SURFACE MATERIALS

The surface of any Skatepark is one of the critical elements that contribute to the success of the facility. Evolution offer 3 surfacing options:

Option 1 - Synthetic (Recommended for exterior ramps)
Option 2 - Birch Ply (Recommended for interior ramps)
Option 3 - Steel

Whichever riding surface option you choose, the framework principle remains the same. In the instance of Option 1 & 2, the opportunity of change from one to the other in subsequent years is possible.

OPTION 2 - BIRCH PLYWOOD

Plywood is highly desirable from a users point of view. Offering a 'soft ride' experience with the correct amount of traction between wheels and surface.

Though considered a 'budget option', it's an ideal choice for indoor skateparks where weather deterioration is not an influencing factor.

The top surface is Birch Ply, ideal due to it's firmness and resistance to splintering. Evolution use Eastern European Birch Ply sourced from Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Russia as part of the Responsible Purchasing Directive.

Benefits:

• Smooth ride
• Fast
• Quiet
• Good grip
• Low cost
• Softer landings

Eastern European Ply is renowned for it's exceptionally high qualities:

• Consistent quality veneers through whole board
• Lowest percentage of knots, filler & repair patches
• Consistent board thickness
• W.B.P exterior grade
• Smooth, splinter resistant finish
