WALL RIDES, INCLINED WALLS & VERT WALLS
These ramps allow riders to turn around in a more skillful manner by riding up the wall surface, then turning to land back in the ramp. Vert walls are large quarterpipes with an extended vertical section.

DRIVEWAYS
Driveways are banked units situated within the central area of a skatepark, usually ridden from a number of directions.
Jump boxes, grind boxes and rails can be incorporated to create a more challenging obstacle.

MINI RAMPS & MIDI RAMPS
The mini ramp is a small halfpipe and enables riders to perform tricks in a consistent 'back to back' manner without losing momentum. Halfpipes above 7ft high they are classified as a midi ramps.

FLAT BANKS
Flat banks are often found around the edges of a skatepark or can be hung onto the side of another ramp. Generally used to turn around or as a run up ramp for another obstacle.

GRIND BOXES & PLANTERS
Grind boxes and planters offer metal edges for grinding tricks raised above ramp or ground level.

JUMP BOXES
Jump boxes serve as a launch ramp and landing combined. Mostly found towards the centre of skatepark courses. Generally ridden in one direction at speed to achieve a jump into the air.

Halfpipes are large ramps which curve to vertical and enable riders to perform tricks in a consistent 'back to back' manner without losing momentum.

GRIND RAILS
Grind rails offer raised tubular bars for sliding and grinding tricks. They can be freestanding or incorporated on top of ramps. Variations in style include square or round tubing, single or double tube, straight or kinked.

SPINE RAMPS & VOLCANOES
Spine ramps consist of two quarterpipes placed back to back and can be found as stand alone spines within a skatepark course or incorporated into a mini ramp. Volcanoes are spines with a short platform in between.
